Based on Pakhtoon culture. The movie attempts to unveil the soft image of Pakistan and delivers a strong message of disproving ethnic stereotypes against the Pakhtoons in Paksitan.
A love triangle between the leads Armeena Rana Khan, Bilal Ashraf and Ali Rehman Khan.
“It’s not a typical love triangle like any other bollywood movie, infect the movie address misperceptions about Pakhtoon culture strongly.” – said Armeena
“It’s a romantic-comedy, but we’ve explored Pakhtoon culture, because it’s a misperceived part of our country, even within country. You can’t stereotype Pakhtoons based on one label.” – says co-producer Hareem Farooq
Ali Rehman played character of “Daniyal” in the movie, “Born and raised in Islamabad, Daniyal is fun loving guy but has a serious side too. You will see different layers of my acting, I have worked in all three mediums; from theater to big screen. It was not easy.” – Says Ali Rehman
“My Character is completely opposite to “Daniyal”. I am playing Asfandyar, grew up in Sawat and a serious character.” Said Bilal.
“The film shot in scenic valley of Sawat. This movie about Pakistan, it has its own identity and will make its own mark. We are releasing this movie in 15 countries which is good for Pakistani Cinema and also for Pakistan.” – Director Azfar Jafri added.
The Janaan team hopes to eradicate the extrinsic connection created between Pakistan, Pakhtoons and terrorism through its upcoming venture. Directed by Azfar Jafri and co-produced by Hareem Farooq, Reham Khan and Imran Raza Kazmi, Janaan is set to release this Eid ul Azha.
